An in-app purchase (IAP) is a real-money transaction inside a free-to-play game. In social casinos, IAPs are typically packs of chips, coins, or credits ranging from $0.99 starter packs to $99.99 (or higher) jumbo bundles. Some games also sell boosters, VIP passes, or premium currency like diamonds. IAPs are how social-casino studios make money. Buying chips doesn't make a game gambling, since the chips you buy still have no cash value.
