What changed on Facebook, and where the links go now

On 1 September 2026 Meta ended the old in-browser games on Facebook, the versions many of these games had run since the early 2010s. Facebook is still where most of them post their free links, but tapping one on a computer no longer means playing inside Facebook. Some games moved to Facebook Instant Games, many moved desktop players to their own websites, and a few closed their Facebook versions altogether.

Where a desktop link lands today

On 10 October 2026 we opened the newest link for each game that had a Facebook version in a desktop browser and wrote down where it ended up. On a phone the same links open the app instead, so none of this affects mobile players.

Where the games run

Mobile is where almost all of these games live: 89 of the games we cover are on the App Store and 89 on Google Play. 38offer a version you can play in a browser on the studio's own site, and 32 still have a Facebook version or still send their links to one. Games on several platforms appear under each, which is why the counts above overlap.

How claiming differs by platform

On a phone or tablet, tapping a bonus link normally opens the app straight to the reward, which is the quickest way to claim. On a computer, the link opens whatever the game now uses on desktop, from its own website to Facebook Instant Games, and you need to be signed in to the same account you play with. Wherever you play, claim the newest links first, because most games never say how long a link stays open.
