MGM Slots Live - Real Rewards

MGM Slots Live is a free-to-play social casino from PLAYSTUDIOS, launched in 2021. It is not quite like the other games we cover, and the difference is worth understanding before you play.

There are two currencies doing separate jobs. Chips are what you spin with, and they are virtual: they cannot be withdrawn, cashed out or redeemed for money. Loyalty Points are earned through play and belong to the myVIP Rewards programme, and those redeem for real-world perks.

Real perks means real: hotel stays, dining, shows and cruises, subject to availability and terms. That is a genuinely different proposition from a pure social casino where nothing leaves the app.

The game is part of PLAYSTUDIOS' playAWARDS portfolio, which began with myVEGAS Slots on Facebook in 2012 and expanded from there. We cover myVEGAS Slots and myKONAMI Slots separately, and they run on the same loyalty model.

This is the part that makes MGM Slots Live worth understanding properly, and it is also where expectations go wrong.

You play with chips. Playing earns Loyalty Points. Points are redeemed in the myVIP Rewards programme for real-world rewards. Crucially, points are not purchasable, so you cannot simply buy your way to a hotel stay; they have to be earned through play.

What this is not: a way to win money. Chips have no cash value and there is no withdrawal at any point. If you hit a jackpot, you get chips.

What it is: a loyalty scheme, closer in spirit to an airline points programme than to gambling. You are accumulating points toward comps, and everything is subject to availability and the programme's terms.

It is also worth knowing what this structure avoids. Sweepstakes casinos, which run dual currencies redeemable for cash, have faced increasing regulatory scrutiny and outright bans in several US states. MGM Slots Live is not that model; nothing here converts to cash, which is why it operates broadly.

• The 2-hour bonus: Free chips every 2 hours, the main recurring source.
• Daily login bonus: Separate from the timed collection.
• Level-up bonuses: Chips as you progress.
• Facebook connection: Linking your account can trigger free chip grants and emails.
• Live slot tournaments: Competitive events with chip prizes and milestone rewards.
• Official link posts: PLAYSTUDIOS posts daily free chip links for its social casino apps, including this one, typically worth millions of chips.

Links can close, and PLAYSTUDIOS does not publish how long a link stays open.

Remember that all of these pay chips, not Loyalty Points. Points come from playing, so a free chip link is useful because it lets you play more, which is how the points accumulate.

No documented promo code entry field exists in the game's help materials.

Free chips are distributed through the in-app bonuses, the Facebook connection, and link posts on the official page. Third-party aggregators compile those links, and they should be treated with the usual caution since they are not official channels.

Special events may grant direct bonuses, but there is no code redemption flow documented anywhere we could find.

No, and the answer needs a little more care than usual because of the loyalty programme.

Chips are virtual with no cash value. You cannot withdraw winnings and you cannot redeem chips for money. The game states plainly that it is intended for entertainment.

Loyalty Points are a separate system and they do redeem for real-world perks, but that is a comps programme rather than a payout. You are not wagering points, you cannot convert them to cash, and they are earned by playing rather than won.

So the honest summary: you cannot win money here, but you can earn points toward hotel stays and dining if you play enough. Whether that is worth your time depends entirely on whether you would use those rewards.

MGM Slots Live runs on iOS and Android.

Because the loyalty programme is tied to your account rather than the device, linking your account properly matters more here than in a game where progress is just chips.

MGM Slots Live sits in PLAYSTUDIOS' playAWARDS family, and its siblings run the same loyalty model.

• myVEGAS Slots: The original playAWARDS title from 2012, with the largest rewards catalogue in the family.
• myKONAMI Slots: Also PLAYSTUDIOS, on Konami machines, with the same Loyalty Points programme.
• POP! Slots: Another PLAYSTUDIOS game whose chip links are distributed the same way.
• Heart of Vegas: A conventional social casino if you decide the loyalty angle is not for you.
• Jackpot Party Casino: Light & Wonder, real casino floor machines, with a busier link feed and no loyalty scheme.

Within the playAWARDS family the loyalty programme is shared, so the choice is really about which machines you prefer. Against ordinary social casinos, the question is simply whether you would use the comps, because that is the only thing MGM Slots Live offers that they do not.
