How to Get Free Rare Gems in Bejeweled Blitz

What Rare Gems are and why they matter

Rare Gems are optional power-ups that change how a single 60-second game plays. Unlike Flame, Star and Hypercube gems, which you create by matching during a round, Rare Gems are equipped before you start and apply a special rule for that session.

• Moonstone: Start the game with three Star Gems already on the board.
• Cat's Eye: Triples your multiplier effect and adds laser clears during Last Hurrah.
• Timestone: Periodically blasts gems every second during the game.

Used at the right moment, a Rare Gem turns a good run into a record, which matters most in Blitz Champions contests where every point counts. The catch is cost: many run to tens of thousands of coins and some well past 100,000, which is a serious investment for a free player. The Daily Spin

The Daily Spin is the most consistent free source. You get one free spin every 24 hours on mobile and Facebook, and the wheel carries coins, Shards, Diamonds and Gold Bars, with Rare Gems or gem discounts appearing as possible outcomes.

• Log in every day, even if the spin is all you have time for. A missed day is a missed chance.
• During seasonal events the wheel often features event-specific Rare Gems more heavily.
• If you have extra spins from events, save them for periods when gems are featured.

Coins are the most common result, so the spin will not hand you a gem every day. Over weeks and months, though, it becomes a genuine source of free power-ups for no effort beyond opening the app.

Blitz Quest chests

Blitz Quest is a task-based track guided by a character called Gemma, and it is one of the more reliable ways to earn Rare Gems without spending coins. Objectives look like creating 20 Flame Gems in one game, reaching 100,000 points three times, or activating Blazing Speed five times.

Completing tasks earns progress toward chests, which can hold coins, Shards, Diamonds, Gold Bars and sometimes Rare Gems. Two things make this work in your favour: pick quests that match how you already play, since score-based tasks are effortless if you were chasing scores anyway, and do not rush, because many reset daily or weekly and you get repeated chances at them.

Events and seasonal promotions

EA and PopCap regularly run limited-time events that raise your chances of picking up free Rare Gems, including holiday events, contests with gems as leaderboard prizes, and login events that grant a gem simply for playing during a window.

• Check the in-game news tab regularly, especially around holidays.
• Follow the official channels so you do not miss limited-time login bonuses.
• Enter event contests even at mid-tier level, since those brackets still pay.

Event gems are often seasonal, which means they may not return for a year or more. When one is available it is worth prioritising over a gem you can pick up any time.

Blitz Champions contests

Blitz Champions are competitive leaderboards with their own rule-sets. They are built for competition but they are also a solid gem source for active players.

• Some contests list Rare Gems directly as rewards for top finishers.
• Others pay large coin or Gold Bar amounts you can save toward buying gems.
• Participation alone often earns small currency rewards that accumulate.

Enter contests that suit your skill level and the gems you actually have. You do not need to target the very top, since mid-tier brackets still pay meaningfully, and using a free gem from the Spin or a Quest chest in a contest is exactly the moment it earns its keep.

The weekly shareable gem links

PopCap posts shareable Rare Gem links on its official channels. These credit your account when clicked and need no surveys, downloads or personal data beyond your existing game account.

Two things are worth knowing about the rhythm of these. They arrive roughly once a week rather than several times a day, so there is no need to check hourly. And each link gives one specific named gem, with the name written into the link itself, so you can see what you are claiming before you tap. Watch the inventory cap

This is the single most common reason a working link appears to fail. You can only hold five of any one free Rare Gem.

At that limit the claim screen shows MAX and gives you nothing, which is your inventory being full rather than the link being dead. Use one of that gem in a round and come back. It is worth checking the Items tab before working through several links at once, so you do not burn a fresh link on a gem you are already capped on.

What not to do

The usual traps apply, and they are worth naming because Rare Gems are exactly the kind of thing scam sites advertise.

• Gem generators and hack tools promising unlimited Rare Gems. None exist.
• Sites asking you to complete surveys, enter card details or share your EA password.
• Videos claiming secret codes. Bejeweled Blitz does not use typed promo codes at all.

Rely on the in-game systems for your core supply, use only official channels and clearly identified links, and save the gems you earn for the moments where they change the outcome rather than spending them on casual runs.
