Where DoubleDown Free Spins Come From
We counted every free spins promo we listed:
- Email: 30 free spins: 140 promos, the large majority.
- Messenger: 20 free spins: 13 promos, sent by Penny.
- Notifications and public posts: 9 more, mostly 20 free spins.
They came almost daily: on 30 of 30 days in June, 31 of 31 in July and August, and 29 of 30 in September, there was at least one. If you are not receiving DoubleDown's emails, you are missing most of them. Connect your account to Facebook or register your guest account with an email address in Settings, and check your spam folder for email@e1.ddc-emails.com.
How Free Spins Play
DoubleDown's help center explains what happens when you tap a free spins offer:
- The slot the spins are for loads on its own, and the spins start.
- No chips are taken. The number of spins left is shown on screen.
- You cannot change the slot or bet, or stop early.
- When they finish, a message shows how many chips you won. You can keep playing that slot or go back to the lobby.
What Free Spins Don't Count Toward
Free spins do not count toward wager-based goals, missions or giveaway entries, and DoubleDown says spins that use no chips earn no experience toward your next level. If you are working on a Mission Pass challenge, only regular spins move it.
Which Slots the Spins Are For
Free spins promos usually open a recent release. Among the free spins links whose slot we could read were Bier Haus Fortune Link, Cleopatra's Jeweled Reign, Carrot Frenzy Quad Squad and Balloon Fever Mega Bunch. The slot changes from promo to promo, so there is no point waiting for a favorite.
Free Spins vs Free Chips
Many sites use "free spins" loosely to mean free chips. In DoubleDown they are different things: free chips go into your balance to bet however you like, while free spins play a set number of spins on one slot and pay you whatever those spins win. A typical chip promo is worth 250,000 to 300,000 chips; what a free spins promo pays depends on the spins. Both are listed on our free chips page.
